Go See the Movie

Sicko.

Go see it.

Seriously---it should be required viewing for all high school seniors and college students.

I'm not saying the movie is perfect. I'm not saying it doesn't have flaws. But too many people are not willing to see the horrible problems our country has with health care----insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and yes, a lot of doctors.

Go see the movie. Think about the people you know who don't get an ailment taken care of because they can't afford the copay or the deductible or to have a pre-existing issue on a record. Then there're the millions of Americans without coverage.

Interestingly, the movie doesn't focus on our failure to make sure everyone is insured. Instead, it's more about those of us who are insured---who could very well face a devastating illness that could bankrupt us. As someone who is insured and yet had to pay almost $900 out of pocket for an MRI---well, indeed.

Houston, we have a problem.

Go see the movie.
